Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Opportunites
Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) is recruiting for two positions.
- A board-eligible/board-certified pediatric cardiologist with specialty training and experience in interventional catheterization for congenital heart disease or
- A board-certified pediatric cardiologist with specialty training and five plus years of experience in interventional catheterization for congenital heart disease to join the team and mentor junior team colleagues. This position has the potential for the candidate to serve as Director of Catheterization Lab program and other leadership roles on the JDCH medical staff, depending on the interest and experience of the applicant.
Primary responsibilities will be for children and adults with congenital heart disease in need of cardiac catheterization and intervention. Catheterization volume has been steadily increasing and is expected to be approximately 450 cases in 2021. Procedures are primarily performed in a state-of-the-art Toshiba biplane lab with 3D rotational angiography capability, with a separate lab for electrophysiology studies. All types of cutting-edge procedures, from transcatheter valves and investigational devices in children and adults to PDA closures in tiny premature babies, are well established. Additional responsibilities will include related outpatient clinic evaluations, sharing inpatient night and weekend calls, and occasional inpatient service coverage. The candidate will participate in research opportunities with supportive resources.
The JDCH Heart Institute provides all aspects of congenital heart care from fetus to adult, including congenital heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and advanced imaging. The team also provides advanced heart failure treatment including medical therapies, acute and chronic mechanical circulatory support, and is the leading pediatric heart transplant program in South Florida.
