Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL is looking to add a psychiatrist to its established adult inpatient and consultation psychiatric programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated physician to be involved in a fully supported program in a large and recognized dynamic healthcare system. This is also a particularly exciting time to join the Memorial Healthcare System’s Department of Psychiatry, as we now have a psychiatry residency program that welcomed its inaugural class of PGY-1 residents in June of 2019. Of particular interest are candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong interest in shaping the didactic curriculum of a premiere training program for the benefit of future generations of psychiatrists. Additionally, two half-days a week will be spent in the outpatient psychiatry practice that is being developed. The inpatient department is on the Memorial Regional Hospital campus, allowing patients access to critical care and emergency treatment services should the need arise. The department currently has 53 adult beds and averages more than 2,000 admissions per year. The successful candidate will provide treatment for the adult psychiatric inpatient units as well as consultations in the emergency department and the general hospital, and should meet the following qualifications: • BE/BC in psychiatry with addiction medicine experience and/or training • Experience in psychiatric evaluation and medication management • Strong interest in teaching and fostering learning in trainees • Experience and strong interest in academic pursuits, such as presenting at conferences and/or publishing in peer-reviewed journals This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group.
