Acadia Healthcare

Belmont Behavioral Hospital has been collaborating with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to address pediatric crisis intervention services in the city of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Children's Crisis Response Center (PCCRC) is a program for the triage, intervention and stabilization of children and adolescents between the ages of 3 through 17, who are experiencing behavioral and psychiatric crisis. We have an eight-bed crisis stabilization unit (CSU) for young people who need intensive short-term psychiatric services, where the typical length of stay is 5-7 days. This continuum of care includes brief treatment and/or stabilization in an age appropriate, family centered, trauma informed environment. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist provides medical and health services for all patients of the PCCRC, by coordinating medication administration, evaluations and mental health assessments. Conducts mental health evaluations, meets regularly with other staff to review patient progress and maintains required patient documentation including medication records, forms, health information and incident reports. Provides psychiatric consultation when requested. Provides individual therapy, family therapy and or medication management as needed for patients under his/her care. Leads the multidisciplinary treatment team in reviewing patient progress and to ensure timely, effective communications with patients, families, providers, caseworkers, advocates and other health care professionals and in compliance with all internal and external regulations, policies and procedures
