The Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute, a program of Lifespan Physician Group (LPG): Rhode Island Hospital & The Miriam Hospital, affiliated hospitals of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University have an opening for a Clinical Cardiologist trained in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant. Our Cardiologists are part of an academic medical center program, with opportunities for Brown University Clinical Faculty appointment. This heart failure position is part of a “shared care model” of highly integrated co-management with a single primary implant center.

About the opportunity:

  • Join a team of 35 cardiologists (all Cardiovascular sub-specialties)
  • There are currently 3 other Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologists
  • Teaching opportunity as faculty on hospital teaching services and Cardiology Fellowship
  • Time is split 1:4 wk on the heart failure service
  • 2-4 weeks available at VAD/Transplant implant center
  • Weekend back up call 1:4
  • Night call is 1:15 (light from home)
  • See an average of 8-10 patients per half day clinic
  • Opportunity additional invasive and non-invasive procedures
  • Academic appointment to Brown University
  • Potential to participate in research

  • Board certified or eligible in Advance Heart Failure
  • Fellowship training in Advance Heart Failure & Transplant

Additional training in Echocardiography a plus but not required
