We are looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Outpatient GI/Intestinal Transplant team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The role of this advanced practice provider will be to manage the care of patients who require intestinal rehabilitation, evaluation for intestinal transplant, or have undergone bowel transplant.

This position is outpatient only and the work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

  • Conducts comprehensive health history, physical assessments and plans for patients with acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Supports transplant evaluations and listing
  • Utilizes advanced assessment skills to manage patient population
  • Order and prescribe pharmacologic treatments and diagnostic testing to treat illness and improve health status
  • Serve as an educational resource to patient and provider team
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, certifying renewal bodies, seeking educational opportunities when available, and participates in prfessional development such as APP students, Medical residents and students. Acts as a preceptor/Mentor for those new in the department.

GI interest and experience preferred.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of a master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant is required.
  • Eligible for DEA registration.
  • Must be knowledgeable in interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory data and clinical management of patients.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current and clear license as NP or PA in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education/Training - Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

This position has a hiring range of $115,000 - $143,619

Compensation Details

$115-143k

The hiring range is the range MedStar Health, in good faith, believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level, etc. Even within the range, the actual compensation will vary depending on the above factors as well as market/business considerations.
