Exciting opportunity for a primary care physician to take the next step in your career. Lifespan Physician Group (LPG), the largest physician organization in RI and academically affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University has an opening for a new position, Chief of Primary Care. Reporting directly to the President of LPG, time will be split 50% clinical & 50% administrative.

About the job:

  • Responsible for the clinical quality & performance of 9 primary care practices
  • Working with the VP of Business Development develop a strategic plan for providing primary care services within Lifespan
  • Supervisor and mentor 5 Medical Directors
  • Develop a process for measuring & monitoring quality of care provided by our PCPs and advanced practitioners
  • Work with VP of Operations & practice administrators to develop workflows that can be standardized & executed across the individual practices
  • Assist with the development of budgets for primary care practices, monitor budget & collaborate with operations, billing, & financial management
  • Work with the ACO management team, develop & implement interventions to reduce the Total Cost of Care
  • Monitor & improve the overall patient experience
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations of primary care medical directors
  • Time will be split 50% on admin duties & 50% as a clinician (approx 16-20 hrs/week)
  • Potential academic appointment to Brown University

About you:

  • Board certified in IM, FM, or Med/Ped
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in primary care
  • Previous administrative experience running a primary care practice
  • Possess a passion for primary care & process improvement
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
