Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Regional Chair of Internal Medicine for the Central Region. This position is the senior physician leader with the responsibility, in collaboration with the hospital chairs of internal medicine, to ensure that the highest standard of care is provided by all members of the Internal Medicine service in the central region of HMH.

Under the direction of the President of the Physician Enterprise, the Regional Chair will also provide leadership to both employed physicians and independent internal medicine providers in the central region.This position will report to the President of the Central Region of HMH, to the President of the Physician Enterprise, and to the CMO at JFK for their role as the Chair of Medicine at JFK.

Position Function Highlights 

  • Review all services, personnel and, in collaboration with the local hospital leadership, formulate and implement a strategic plan for internal medicine services in the central region,
  • Support, direct and participate in the education of physicians, providers, nurses, residents and students.
  • Establish JFK as the academic hub in the Central Region.

Knowledge, Education and Skills HIghlights

  • MD/DO Degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and enrollment in MOC
  • Active, unrestricted medical license from any US State or Territory and NJ License
  • Minimum of five years independent clinical practices experience in Internal Medicine
  • Minimum of two years as the leader of an internal medicine program in a major, high volume, teaching hospital
  • Eligible for faculty appointment to the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine
