  • Job Summary:

    The Executive Director for the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center (Johnson Depression Center) provides academic and strategic leadership for the Johnson Depression Center, which includes a diverse set of dynamic programs that make a meaningful impact in all academic mission areas including community outreach and advocacy. The Johnson Depression Center is one of two founding members of the National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC), which now includes 25 member sites.

    Responsibilities:

    • Expected to provide clinical care at the Johnson Depression Center, mentor trainees and junior faculty, conduct their own research (not mandatory depending upon promotion track), and participate in the life of the Department through attending Grand Rounds, serving on committees, etc.
    • Provide clear vision and leadership in all aspects of the academic mission at the Johnson Depression Center.
    • Ensure alignment of the Johnson Depression Center’s activities with Departmental goals and mission areas and integration of the Johnson Depression Center activities with other Department entities as appropriate.
    • Maintain general and active control of the Johnson Depression Center’s affairs and business.

    Qualifications:

    Associate Professor:

    • 1-3 years of related experience at rank or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum degree qualifications: MD and/or DO or MD/PhD

    Professor:

    • 4-7 years of related experience at rank or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum degree qualifications: MD and/or DO or MD/PhD

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 2-3 years in an academic/or clinical leadership position in the area of psychiatry and/or neuroscience, may be at the program, section, division, or school level (or equivalent, such as leader of a strong and well-funded research group or center).
    • Demonstrated acceptance as a proven and recognized leader in the field of psychiatry. This includes evidence of publications, grants received, invited lectureships, etc.

    Compensation Details

    $250-310k
