The PICU at The University of Kansas Health System is a medically based unit with in-house coverage with up to 600 admissions per year.

  • Co-management to the region’s only accredited pediatric burn center and Level 1 adult trauma service
  • Nightly coverage for the general pediatrics unit and pediatric hematology/oncology services
  • Growing, pediatric sedation service, providing pediatric sedations throughout the hospital system, ~300 per year

The position

  • Provide direct patient care
  • Attending intensivist will supervise residents and medical students at the University of Kansas School of Medicine
  • Will take charge of triaging all pediatric transfers into the hospital system

Qualifications

  • MD or DO, or foreign degree equivalent
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics
  • Completion of post-graduate training program in pediatric critical care accredited by the ACGME
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Kansas
