Position Summary

​

St. John’s Regional is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to lead outpatient oncology services. This is a solo provider role supported by a seasoned midlevel and robust clinical staff. No inpatient oncology services are required—remote call only, with direct coordination available through ER physicians and hospitalists for admissions.

Compensation

​

· 24 hr. call: $3230

· Night call: $565

· Call back: $475/hr.

​

Schedule & Call

​

Clinic Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM

Call Coverage:

Night call (Mon–Thurs): Remote

Weekend call (Fri–Sun): 24-hour remote

Average Daily Census: 15–21 patients (shared with NP; ~75% on MD schedule)

Current Call Volume: ~5 calls/day

Clinical Duties

​

Diagnosis, staging, and treatment of hematologic and oncologic conditions

Oversight of outpatient clinic and infusion services

On-site presence required for all infusion treatments

Infusion therapies include:

Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy

Blood/Platelet transfusions

Hormone & Antibiotic therapies

Rheumatoid Arthritis injections

Therapeutic Phlebotomies

​

1 RN (clinic), 2 MAs, 2 front office clerks

1 quality analyst/billing specialist

3 infusion RNs

Long-term NP (M–F, 8–5) covering Friday infusions and occasional appointments

Clinic: iKnowmed

Infusion Center: Cerner

Requirements

​

Board Certification: Hematology AND Oncology preferred; will consider Board Eligible or single-boarded

Licensure: Active California Medical License

Fellowship: Medical Oncology – Required

Certifications: CA DEA, BLS, ACLS – Required

Credentialing Timeline: 30–60 days
