Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Chair of the Department Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine serves the 17 hospital IU Health System, which includes the Riley Children’s Hospital, multiple surgery centers as well as the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center and Eskenazi Health. The department is located in a modern 150,000 square foot laboratory building located overlooking the central canal in Indianapolis.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine conducts research programs on degenerative neurological diseases, cancer, tissue injury, inflammation and infection, metabolic disturbances, and stem cells. Faculty operate core research labs to support this collaborative research , including: Neuropathology Core, Specimen Storage Facility, Translational Genomics, Tissue Procurement and Distribution, Immunohistochemistry Core and Electron Microscopy Center.

We are seeking a transformational leader who can build on existing clinical, educational and research strengths in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Minimum qualifications include an MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, academic credentials appropriate for appointment to the rank of full professor with tenure, and eligibility for licensure in Indiana.
