Physician, Emergency Medicine - Shanghai, China




· Provide high quality medical care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

· Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries.

· Prepare and review case histories and obtain data through patient interviews.

· Examine patients and determine indicated clinical laboratory tests and imaging studies. Evaluate physical examination findings and interpret test results.

· Prescribe medication therapy.

· Perform minor surgical procedures.

· Manage dislocations and fractures, non-surgically.

· Stabilize trauma and medically decompensated patients.

· Determine need for specialized medical care and assist in treatment and transfer.

· Be granted additional privileges based on documented proficiency.

· Advocate for patients’ welfare by having patients’ needs foremost in one’s clinical activities.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues, nurses, support staff, administration.

· Possess problem-solving skills and constructive approaches in the workplace.

· Exhibit professionalism.

· Demonstrate a commitment to self-learning. Utilize basic computer skills; document appropriately and timely in the electronic health record.

· Take Shanghai narcotic exam at the earliest available time offered. In the meantime all narcotic prescriptions will need to be co-signed by a licensed physician.


· Doctor of Medicine degree from an approved school of medicine.

· Board Certification/Board Eligibility (or equivalent) in Emergency Medicine license in these or similar specialties.

· Minimum 5 years’ experience post-residency in the clinical area.

· Qualification/Certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Pediatric Life Support (PALS).

· Fluency in English. Mandarin speaker preferred.
