Summary

  • I am a board-certified, noninvasive cardiologist in solo private practice in South St. Louis County. I did my Cardiology fellowship at Washington University/Barnes Hospital. I am on the active medical staff of St. Anthony’s Medical Center | Mercy. Early in my
career I was a Critical Care Physician and was board-certified in Critical Care Medicine between 1991-2001. I did not recertify in CCM after 2001 as I had “morphed” into an exclusively Cardiology practice. I am a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and also of the American College of Chest Physicians.

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. My wife (also an Alabamian) and I have lived in STL since 1974 and raised our family here. Of course, neither of us can ever hope to be real St. Louisans as we did not attend high school in St. Louis. Our three children went to high school in STL, but were not born in Missouri. My grandmother did raise the flag at the Swedish Pavilion when she was eight years old at the STL World’s Fair, which was also attended by many notable people including Geronimo (native American Apache leader), President Theodore Roosevelt, Mary E Walker, Annie Malone, T.S. Eliot (native St.Louisan so of course he was there), Guglielmo Marconi, Booker T Washington, Thomas Edison, Helen Keller, Scott Joplin, Will Rogers, William Howard Taft and Jack Daniels (whose Tennessee Whiskey won the Gold Medal for the World’s finest Whiskey). Also, my mother was born in St Louis but moved away as a young child, severing any STL roots for me.
