Summary

  • I am an experienced APN and professor of Nursing and Health Sciences in the Chicagoland area. I work with Community Home Physicians, LLC as an advanced practice nurse.
I am board certified in critical care, advanced heart failure, and cardiology. I have extensive experience working in respected and growing cardiac programs in Chicagoland and surrounding suburbs. I am responsible for participating in the program development of cardiac transplantation and mechanical support programs which are successful and viable today.
I received my Bachelors degree in nursing from Saint Xavier University and my Masters degree in nursing science and advanced practice from Rush University. Her residency hours were completed at University of Chicago. I am planning to enroll to finish my phD program.
I am considered an expert amongst my peers and physicians colleagues alike in general cardiology, advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation, education, and advocacy. I am highly motivated and have a keen interest in research, guideline directed therapies, and education of both practitioners, students, and patients/families.
I have received many awards and honors during my career. I was awarded the Nurse of the Year at University of Chicago, Volunteer of the Year for the American Heart Association, “Stand out amongst your Peers” award from Abbott for my work in cardiovascular research, the Patient Satisfaction Award for consistently being in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction at Northwestern Medicine, elected to be on a national committee “Thought Leaders Forum” for research in advanced heart failure, and "teacher of the week" by a Chicagoland broadcasting station in May, 2022. I publicly speak at national and local meetings and am on the speakers bureau at PESI.
