Doximity Releases 2018-2019 Residency Navigator

An insider’s guide to residency programs, powered by over 315,000 alumni ratings and reviews

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 24, 2018 -- Doximity, the leading medical social network, today announced the release of its 2018-2019 Residency Navigator. Residency Navigator is the most comprehensive directory of residency programs, empowering U.S. medical students to discover and compare programs that are best-suited for their career goals in medicine.

Residency Navigator shares insights from the largest survey of its kind, with over 72,500 verified U.S. physician respondents who have contributed nominations, ratings, and hand-written reviews. Over 90 percent of graduating fourth year medical students are active users of Doximity.

Within Residency Navigator, medical students can search through residency programs across categories such as specialty, geography, hospital type, research output or board pass rates. This year’s Residency Navigator includes more than 4,000 residency programs across 28 specialties.

Top features include:

  • Maps: Browse a map of national programs in your specialty of interest, as well as explore maps by program to evaluate the strength of regional alumni networks.
  • People Like You: See detailed, program-level information within each residency program page, including the “people like you” section, which highlights notable alumni such as those who graduated from your medical school and attended that program period.
  • Real Reviews: Read satisfaction reviews from verified current residents and recent alumni who have shared over 260,000 anonymized ratings and hand-written reviews on important aspects of their experience such as career guidance, schedule flexibility during pregnancy, program culture, and clinical diversity.

“Choosing a residency program is a pivotal decision in the careers of young physicians. We try to alleviate some stress by making it simple to compare programs while also providing real reviews from past residents, so physicians can find the training environments best-suited for their individual career paths,” shared Dr. Nate Gross, co-founder of Doximity.
