Summary
- I am a dual-board-certified doctor in internal medicine and psychiatry. My residency was completed at Rush University, where I also received certification in psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and internal medicine. I have since founded two training programs - UC Irvine Train New Trainers (TNT) Primary Care Psychiatry (PCP) Fellowship and the TNT PC Training and Education in Addiction Medicine (TEAM) Fellowship - which aim to equip primary care providers with knowledge and skills in adult psychiatry, pediatric psychiatry, and SUD behavioral health.
At the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, I am a professor, the Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education, and Director of Education for the UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. My involvement also extends to the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Psychiatry and as Medical Director for Mind OC. I am proud to be a member of the California National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Board, and an advisor to the American Medical Association. Throughout my career, I have written numerous articles and edited six textbooks on various medical topics, and have received recognition from various organizations for my expertise in medical and psychiatric education and integrative care.
