• I am a second-career nurse with Care Management Clinic, a creative and forward-thinking initiative of Nashville General Hospital, an academically affiliated public hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
  
  I work in a team of five nurses and social workers on a mission to educate, encourage and support our patients with clinic and community resources, to take better care of themselves and to better manage the challenges of chronic illness.
  
  I practice in partnership with inspired and inspiring Internal Medicine physicians and specialists to improve individual and family health in one of the least well neighborhoods in a booming city in of one of the least well states in the richest country in the world. We see daily the ill effects of poor health care coverage and low-wage jobs without paid sick leave or benefits.
  
  Each day presents multiple opportunities for something wonderful and hopeful and new to take place, as positive change unfolds, and America figures out that money isn't everything, and that upholding common good is a critically important American value.
