Summary

  • I am a board certified orthopaedic who holds a certificate of additional qualification in hand and microvascular surgery. I believe in caring for comprehensive and patient-centered care of problems of the elbow, wrist and hand of patients of all ages.

I have particular interest in athletic injuries of the hand, wrist, and elbow. I am the hand/wrist consultant for the University of Arizona sports teams, team physician for the Tucson RoadRunners AHL hockey team, and have served as on-site orthopedic surgeon for the Arizona Bowl and ITF professional tennis events.

My research has focused on management of bone loss in the upper extremity; soft tissue coverage of orthopedic wounds; distal radius (wrist) fractures; optimizing of the educational environment in orthopedic surgery.

I work hard to make myself available for patients. I really enjoy talking to patients and getting to know them. Every visit is based on good conversation and good listening from the doctor. My goal is for each visit to be an enjoyable and friendly visit to get excellent hand care. I want every patient to realize how much I care about them and their concerns.

I have been involved with a variety of youth sports in Tucson and have served as a certified youth coach with completion of the USSF youth module licensing exams.

Personally, I have been very active in Tucson and regional tennis. Through these teams, I have been able to compete with excellent players from the Southwest and have twice qualified for the 4.5/5.0 national tournaments, the highest level for men over 40.
