  • Dr. Mauricio Kfuri is an orthopedic surgeon in Columbia, MO, at the University of Missouri Health Care. He received his medical degree from the University of Sao Paulo - School of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto. His area of expertise is the surgery of the knee. He has a Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo in Brazil and a post-doctorate training sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany. He has been the president of the Brazilian Orthopaedic Trauma Society and the Chairperson of AOTrauma Latin America. He was involved with the mentorship of 10 Ph.D. students, more than 40 fellows, and multiple medical students. In 2018, together with Joseph Schatzker, MD, he published an extended classification for the tibial plateau fractures. He also has edited supplements to the Journal of Knee Surgery on osteotomies around the knee. In 2022, he has published the book "Knee Surgery: Tricks of the Trade" in partnership with James Stannard, MD, and Andrew Schmidt, MD.
