- Dr. Narayana is professor at Zucker school of Medicine, Hofstra/Northwell University and Chairman of the Radiation Medicine at Northern Westchester Hospital / Northwell program. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India and did his residency in Radiation Oncology at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. He has worked as a faculty at University of Cincinnati, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York University (NYU) and at Greenwich hospital / Yale New Haven Health, CT. He has been named as a top doctor in the specialty by New York magazine for Seven consecutive years from 2014-2020.
Dr. Narayana has extensively trained medical students, residents and fellows in his academic career. He is an invited examiner in The American Board of Radiology (ABR) . He is also the recipient of “teacher of the year” award by the residents five times in his career.
Dr. Narayana’s research is in optimizing the anti-Dr. Narayana’s research is in optimizing the anti-angiogenic therapy, understand the mechanism of resistance and to optimizing immune effect with radiation therapy. He has published more than 80 peer reviewed original articles and 15 book chapters and has given over 120 lectures as an invited speaker around the world.
Dr. Narayana has won numerous awards and honors including membership in The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). He serves as an associate editor for the journal of clinical research and therapeutics as well as medical physics. He is a board member of The Brain Tumor Foundation as well as The Mikey Czech Foundation for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research. He is also involved in improving quality and access to cancer therapy in developing countries in South East Asia, as part of American Society of clinical Oncology (ASCO), Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO) and Indo-American Cancer association (IACA).
