Summary

  • Dr. Bismruta Misra, is the Division Director of Endocrinology at Stamford Health. Since October 2021, she is the Stamford Health Medical Group Director of Medical Subspecialities. Our practice is an unique consultative center that offers the most up-to-date comprehensive treatment for diabetes and endocrinologic disorders. Our seven endocrinologists pride themselves on individualizing treatment regimens and realize that a “one shoe fits all” approach does not work. They enjoy educating patients to better understand their disease process and empower them to treat their condition.

Our physicians work in conjunction with Stamford Hospital Diabetes Education Program, an American Diabetes Association recognized program which provides individual and group nutritional counseling, diabetes education, and insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring training. In addition, we administer all current osteoporosis treatments in office including thyroid ultrasounds and ultrasound guided thyroid biopsies.

Dr. Misra completed her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism from Columbia University Medical Center-New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Misra has particular interests in metabolic bone disorders, reproductive endocrinology, and neuroendocrine conditions. In addition, she has been interested in improving diabetes control with the usage of new technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring. An accomplish researcher, she has co-authored publications on osteoporosis and other metabolic bone disorders. She has been named a Connecticut Magazine® Top Doc, as well as Castle Connolly Top Doc. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition to practicing in Stamford , she has additional appointments in New Canaan.
