Summary

  • Bowen Chung, MD, MSHS is an Associate Professor in Residence in the Department of Psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, an Adjunct Scientist at the RAND Corporation, and a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Harbor - UCLA Medical Center, a safety-net public hospital in Los Angeles County. He received his BA in English Literature from Williams College, MD from Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, and MSHS from the UCLA School of Public Health. Dr. Chung has been conducting health policy and services research in partnership with the community of South Los Angeles for over a decade to improve outcomes for depressed adults and pre-term delivery outcomes for pregnant women through support from the National Institutes of Health, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the California Endowment, and the California Community Foundation. He is currently a core investigator in the UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute's Community Engagement and Research Program. In addition, he was part of the research team that was awarded the 2014 Team Science Award from the Association for Clinical Translational Science / American Federation for Medical Research and the 2015 Community Campus Partnerships for Health Annual Award.
