Summary

I have been the Medical Director of "Positive Health Clinic (PHC)",Allegheny Health Network at Pittsburgh, PA since July 1, 2013. I also do in-patient infectious disease consult at Allegheny General Hospital. This clinic is a harm reduction focus "HIV Certified Patient Center Medical Home". we manage HIV, HIV/HCV co-infections. mental health and Suboxone treatment to patients with opiate dependency. With our team effort, we have built a clinical research program here to join multicenter clinical trials and independent translational research. Further more, I am interesting in building an epidemiologic/clinical database for HIV and its related cohorts. I hope that the database will become the foundation of future multidisciplinary collaborations.

I had provided outpatient primary and specialty care to patients with HIV infection at the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) 1995-2000 and 2004-2013. I provided in-patient consult services for Buffalo General Hospital (BGH) and Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) from 2000-2004. In the past, At ECMC, I directed the treatment program for HIV/HCV co-infected patients. In addition, I am good at managing infection issues in solid organ and marrow transplant recipients through my previous experiences at RPCI, BGH and ECMC.

I have involved international collaboration in AIDS education and research since 2005, mainly with institutions in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai and Taipei. I led UB medical students for the International Health Rotation at Capital Medical University, Beijing, China in 2013 through the UB Study Abroad Program. I enjoy teaching and I have mentored scholars from China and Taiwan in my clinic at ECMC in the past. I will continue to do so and make my PHC to be a global force to fight AIDS epidemic.

I hope that, through my teaching and mentoring efforts, these scholars and students can recognize and manage HIV and infectious diseases issues appropriately with a global, opened-heart view.
