- David Levine, MD, is a neurologist based in New York, NY, with expertise in behavioral neurology,neuropsychiatry, and mathematical modeling of neurological diseases caused by mechanical forces, such as hydrocephalus, intracranial hypertension, syringomyelia and syndromes associated with CSF leak. He completed his medical education at Harvard Medical School in 1968, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a neurology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He served on the faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital until 1991, when he moved to the New York University School of Medicine as professor of neurology. His widely cited research contributions include publications in journals such as Brain, Neurology, Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, Journal of the Neurological Sciences, and Bulletin of Mathematical Biology.
