- Dr. Diana Barratt is a board-certified neurologist, who has received awards from the American Academy of Neurology and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has cared for patients in academic centers, public health systems, private practices, and federally qualified health centers. Her national awards include the American Academy of Neurology Clerkship Director Teaching Award, the American Academy of Neurology Clerkship Director Innovation Award, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Faculty Innovation in Education Award, and the Association of American Medical School’s MedEdPORTAL Editor’s Choice Special Distinction for an EEG and Sleep publication.
Dr. Barratt completed a 2-year fellowship in Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine.
She treated commercial and sport divers with decompression sickness and published papers on the subject. After graduation, she joined the faculty and trained hyperbaric medicine fellows; she also served as an expert witness in maritime injury cases.
While at Florida International University in Miami, she directed the neurosciences course and neurology clerkship, training over 800 medical students. Currently, Dr. Barratt is a clinical affiliate Professor at the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She serves on the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Certification Committee. Her editorial activities include peer reviewing for the following journals: Neurology--the most widely read and highly cited neurology journal and Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance--the most cited journal in its field.
