  • Dr. Jarit grew up in Wading River, NY and graduated from Shoreham-Wading River High School in 1994. He attended college at the University of Virginia and graduated With Distinction in 1998. He obtained his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2002, and then completed residency in orthopedic surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City in 2008. During his residency he completed an additional one-year research fellowship.

    He then returned to the University of Virginia to complete a fellowship in sports medicine. During his fellowship, he served as Assistant Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the University of Virginia and James Madison University. He also covered the UVA Club Ice Hockey team and high school football.

    Dr. Jarit is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the orthopedic care of athletes at all levels. He also performs general orthopedic surgical and nonsurgical fracture care. He has particular interest in the care of acute and chronic sports-related injuries, including conservative, arthroscopic, and minimally invasive surgical treatment. He has experience with the latest techniques in facilitating early return to play while maximizing the function and safety of the athlete. He recently received an additional subspecialty certification in Orthopedic sports medicine.
