Summary

  • My interest in Ophthalmology started when I was a Medical Student at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City while doing one month rotation at the Moran Eye Center. I found Drs. Randy Olson, Alan Crandle and Richard Anderson doing amazing surgeries with great satisfactions for their patients and themselves. After completion of a one year of Internship in Internal Medicine at Yale University Affiliated Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury and West Haven VA Hospital, I completed a 3-year Residency in Ophthalmology at Yale Eye Center of Yale University School of Medicine- Yale-New Haven Hospital. I came to Houston to pursue a 2-year Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Milton Boniuk, a World-Renowned Oculoplastic Surgeon. Major emphasis of this training was focused on Rehabilitation of the Eyelid/Orbital region, Oncology and correction of Congenital and Acquired Abnormalities. Over the following 22 years, I have developed significant interest in cosmetic rehabilitation of the aging face and correction of other anomalies by the use of advanced techniques including minimal invasive surgery/Lasers. I have expertise in the treatment of Pediatric and Adult Eyelid/Orbital Oncology; Non-surgical and Surgical Management of Tearing Eye, Dry Eye Syndrome, Laser Skin Resurfacing; Thyroid Eye Diseases; Facial Chemical Peels; Advanced Skin Care; Management of Anophthalmic Socket and Eyelid-Facial Scar reduction. I am an active and participating Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I take great pride in training next generation of doctors, among them Residents and Fellows. My practice is at the heart of Texas Medical Center- largest medical center in the World.
