Summary

  • James Galloway is currently Director, Life Cycle Management for Ethicon. He provides guidance and expertise, in support of business responsibilities, establishing long term product opportunities, as well as identifying unmet medical needs. Additional responsibilities include providing global clinical perspective for Medical copy review as well as researching, preparing and documenting responses to Medical Information Requests from Healthcare providers.

Jim started in Medical Affairs at Ethicon in 2013 as a Biodesign fellow and has since worked on a number of collaborative projects across the Johnson & Johnson sectors, including Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices. Much of the preclinical work has focused on biologic and device cardiovascular product concepts and development, in house animal surgical testing of hybrid products, ex vivo tissue testing, and the use of isotope imaging for drug and device development. A number of these projects have great commercial potential for Johnson & Johnson, and were based on clinical insights, derived from clinical research, observation, and intuition.

Jim lead the discovery, development, and implementation of a new Salesforce cloudbased MIR platform, subsequently called MIRO. The project was initiated following the designation of the IT platform as a Transformation project, by Johnson and Johnson. The Project took over two years to complete and is now being utilized Globally by all Medical Device companies, at Johnson and Johnson. The project was submitted for a Burke Award in 2019 and was awarded as a finalist in the Professional and Patient Education category.

Prior to joining Ethicon, Jim completed a fellowship in Biodesign from the University of Missouri, Department of Surgery.
