  • James L. Whiteside, MD, MA, MHA is currently a ​professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine where he is also Division Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Whiteside completed undergraduate studies at The College of William and Mary in Virginia followed by a Master of Science degree in Botany at the University of Georgia. Following medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown University/Women and Infant’s Hospital followed by a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Whiteside also holds a Masters in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois and a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He is nationally recognized for his research and commentary on topics ranging from anatomy to ethics with over 80 scientific articles, book chapters, and publications in diverse media. He is a recognized reviewer for over 10 scientific journals and has served on the Editorial Board of the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a grant reviewer for both national and international research in pelvic floor dysfunction.
