Summary
- Jason H. Anderson, M.D., is an Assistant Professor and Consultant at Mayo Clinic with expertise in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Interventional Cardiology. He holds joint appointments in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Division of Structural Heart Diseases. His clinic focus encompasses several areas including; transcatheter valve replacements for tricuspid valve and pulmonary valve replacements in prior bioprosthetic valves and native implantation; advanced techniques for percutaneous device closure of PFOs, ASDs, and VSDs; multi-modality diagnostic and interventional management of single ventricle physiology including stent implantation / angioplasty of cavopulmonary and Fontan pathway connections, embolization of collateral vessels, and transcatheter liver biopsy; percutaneous palliation of ductal dependent physiology via PDA stent implantation; and extravascular shunt creation for non-surgical candidates including veno-venous reconstructions, aortopulmonary shunt creation, and reverse Pott's shunt creation for severe pulmonary hypertension. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Anderson is active in research and education. He serves as medical director for the pre-clinical pipeline of the The Todd and Karen Wanek Family Program for HLHS at Mayo Clinic. This has led to development of a novel Fontan model allowing for ongoing device innovation / optimization in the hope of meeting the needs of patients with this highly specialized physiology.
