Overview of Dr. Thompson
Dr. Jennifer Mariko Thompson is double board-certified in both pediatrics and adolescent medicine. She practices within the BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, FL, where she sees patients from 8 to 21 years old, addressing gynecologic concerns such as menstrual issues and contraception. She is certified in placing Nexplanons.
Dr. Thompson remains deeply involved in medical education. She started BayCare’s first adolescent medicine clinic and is the adolescent medicine rotation director for their pediatric residency program. At Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, she serves as an adjunct lecturer, academic advisor, admissions committee interviewer, and clinical instructor for their pediatric clinical skills capstone course since its inaugural year. She is also a content contributor and editor for Pediatrics Board Review, working on both the core and MOCA-Peds study guides.
She is bilingual, with native proficiency in English and Japanese. During her training, she has also worked at St. Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo, Japan.
