Overview of Dr. Bird
J. Andrew Bird, MD, is the George L. MacGregor Professor in Pediatrics and Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is the Founder and Director of the Food Allergy Center at Children’s Health and Director of its GA²LEN ANACARE Center of Excellence. He also serves as the Dedman Family Scholar in Clinical Care and Winn Master Physician in Food Allergy.
Dr. Bird is a nationally recognized clinician-scientist specializing in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of IgE- and non-IgE–mediated food allergies. His research focuses on improving food allergy diagnosis, developing and evaluating novel therapies, and translating evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies into clinical and community settings. He has led numerous multicenter clinical trials and has authored more than 115 peer-reviewed publications.
