  • Dr. Romero is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Research and Associate Director of the Ventricular Arrhythmia Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He completed his training at recognized academic institutions including Columbia University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Ronald Regan Medical Center/UCLA and Brigham and Women’s Hospital /Harvard Medical School. Dr. Romero is a quadruple board-certified physician for the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and the National Board of Echocardiography.
    He has specialized in the treatment of complex arrhythmias, particularly in endocardial-epicardial mapping and catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia. He has several publications in this field, describing innovative techniques to improve acute and long-term clinical outcomes in these patients. Similarly, Dr. Romero has also specialized in the management of patients with Atrial Fibrillation. He is founded as the co-principal investigator for several initiated-investigator industry trials.
    Dr. Romero’s research interests include the treatment of complex arrhythmias, particularly in endocardial-epicardial mapping and catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia and novel therapeutic interventions for atrial fibrillation. He has authored over 350 publications and 50 book chapters in leading textbooks in the field of Cardiac Electrophysiology particularly on the management and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias. He has also been awarded two Young Investigator Awards—one from the American Heart Association and the other from the American Society of Hypertension. He also received The Eric N. Prystowsky Early Career Researcher Award at the Heart Rhythm Society Scientific meeting in 2018 for describing a novel PVC ablation technique.
