Summary
- I am a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in adolescent sports and hip preservation. After a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics/adolescent sports, I returned to San Antonio Military Medical Center, the DOD's only Level 1 Trauma Center to help teach residents. I worked with the residency program and served as Chair of the Department from 2019-2022. I started the military's first hip preservation service line, performing both arthroscopic and open hip surgery including being a global referral center for Periacetabular Osteotomy surgery.
I have had the opportunity to work with multicenter research consortiums to help answer research questions regarding adolescent sports surgery and hip preservation. After a 20 year career in the military, I am excited to return to Rady Children's Hospital San Diego and UC San Diego to continue my orthopaedics career.
