Summary
- I am an academic physician and an advocate for cost-conscious medicine based at Harvard Medical School. My work to improve healthcare value lies at the intersection of academic research and operational innovation.
I lecture on cost-conscious care in our required intro to health policy course and am co-authoring a textbook called "Understanding High-Value Care" that will be published by McGraw Hill. Costs of Care, a nonprofit I founded to deflate medical bills, is engaging cost-conscious caregivers across the United States in value-improving processes. These efforts have recently attracted the attention of the New York Times, ABC Television, and New England Journal of Medicine.
All patients and caregivers have important insights into how the American healthcare system can be improved. I would love to hear from you.
