Summary

  • After graduating from Princeton University with a BS in Biochemical Sciences, Dr. Godin received his MD with distinction from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He went on to complete a residency in internal medicine, a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Stanford and a fellowship in Critical Care medicine at the National Institutes of Health as well as a research fellowship in trauma and critical care from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
    While at the NIH he also spent time at the Santa Fe Institute studying complex systems and wrote two seminal papers on the use of entropy measures of heart rate variability to predict the early onset of sepsis. His papers have been cited over 819 times in the peer reviewed literature. In addition, he holds an MBA with distinction from Oxford and a Masters in Quantitative Management from Duke focused on data analytics, operations, and Al in healthcare. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Pulmonary Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Society for Complex Acute Illness. He directed the Stanford Health Information Network for Education, subsequently acquired by Wolters Kluwer, and, as an entrepreneur, founded two healthcare technology companies. He was an advisory board member of the Connected Sensing project at Philips Healthcare and currently serves as an advisor to MedGeo (focused on the use of Al and specific optical technologies to optimize medical care in high and low resource settings), and Principia Analytica (a Fintech company). Current interests include advanced data analytics and its applications in healthcare, innovative business models in a changing healthcare landscape, value-based care, decision analysis, Six Sigma, and the analysis of healthcare effectiveness and outcomes.
