  • Dr. Philippe Friedlich is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Co-Director of the Fetal and Neonatal Institute and Chief of the Division of Neonatology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

    A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Friedlich holds memberships with the Society of Pediatric Research and the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Perinatal Pediatrics. Dr. Friedlich is a member of the California Children’s Medical Services /California Children’s Services NICU Technical Advisory Committee.

    Dr. Friedlich earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his pediatric residency and internship at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He completed a fellowship in neonatal and perinatal medicine at the University of Southern California Women’s and Children’s Hospital before joining the faculty of the USC division of Neonatal Medicine in 1998. Dr. Friedlich completed in a Master of Science in Applied Biostatics and Epidemiology from the University of Southern California and earned an MBA in Medical Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

    Dr. Friedlich holds the Teresa and Byron Pollitt Family Chair in Fetal & Neonatal Medicine and its mission to develop new knowledge to impact neonates with complex health issues. Dr. Friedlich lead the Laboratory in Fetal & Neonatal Healthcare Research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles supporting strong research collaborations between surgical, medical and healthcare related disciplines in areas of clinical, translational and basic science.
