• Stephen J. Friedman, MD is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in aesthetic dermatologic surgery, with practices in Encino and Malibu, California. He earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1980, followed by an internship and residency in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic from 1980 to 1984. In 1986, he obtained a Master of Science in Dermatology from the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in conjunction with the University of Minnesota.
  Dr. Friedman served as a Major in the United States Army Reserves and was stationed aboard the maiden humanitarian voyage of the USNS Mercy, where he provided dermatologic care in the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, and throughout the South Pacific. He has authored and contributed to numerous publications, including highly cited articles in leading peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Archives of Dermatology.
  He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).
