• Dual Semitendinosis Allograft Reconstruction of Large Achilles Tendon Defectsclinical study of the use of semitendinosis allograft tendons to repair large defects resulted in a technique paper followed by bench research to compare the dual allograft construct to Achilles turndown procedures. Presented as a podium presentation at AOFAS meeting and paper published in CORR.2013 - 2017
• Talar Dome Bone Resistance to MicrofractureBiomechanical testing measuring the force needed for microfracture awl perforation of cadaver talar domes, started as a corollary study to the Arthroscopic Instrument Project. Presented at Maryland Orthopaedic Society Meeting and Southern Orthopaedic Society Meeting. Paper published.2011 - 2014
• Pull-out Strength of Juggerknot Suture Anchors in Foot and Ankle SurgeryBiomechanical testing on cadaver limbs to discern differences in suture anchor holding power in distal fibula and in calcaneus. Presented at AOFAS meeting as ePoster, paper published.2011 - 2014
• Nerve Stretch Injury in Ankle SprainsBiomechanical testing to better understand the causes of peripheral nerve injury associated with ankle sprains. Cadaver testing with strain gauges on the superficial peroneal nerve measuring changes with inversion and sequential ligament sectioning. Resulted in JBJS paper.2003 - 2010
• Bone Transport Mechanism for SIGN (Surgical Implant Generation Network) Nail:Worked with Johns Hopkins University Biomedical Engineering team and John Herzenberg, M.D. on an inexpensive internal closed loop bone transport mechanism. 2007-2008. Resulted in thesis paper for the Biomedical Engineering team and augmented SIGN possibilities for development.2007 - 2008
• Proximal Tibia Bone Graft Donor Site:Developed clinical parameters and performed bench testing on unicortical tibial bone graft for foot and ankle applications. In conjunction with surgeons from the Rizzoli Institute in Bologna, Italy; performed bone graft surgery, documented technique, and then tested cadaver limbs in the biomechanic2003 - 2006
