    college and school age athlete. He performs minimally invasive Arthroscopic Joint Surgery of the shoulder ,knee ,ankle and elbow and Joint Replacement Surgery of the Shoulder and Knee. His surgeries are performed at the top rated Hospitals in New England. The New England Baptist and the Newton Wellesley Hospital are regarded Nationally and Regionally as leading institutions treating Bone and Joint Disorders and Sports Injury.
    Dr. Mitchell's Orthopedic Surgical expertise is distinguished by his professional training. As a former competitive Gymnast and world class athlete competing for the United States at Penn State University and Captain of Penn State University gymnastics team, he developed a natural interest in treating athletic injury. He did his specialty training in athletic trauma, treating the cadets of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, as their team Physician. He has been honored to serve as medical director for the United States Gymnastics Olympic team trials. He is a former Team doctor for the Boston Celtics and the United States Alpine Men's and Women's Ski teams.
    Of interest is Dr. Mitchell's commitment to personal fitness as it closely relates to conditioning activities needed in recovery from injury. He enjoys a variety of sporting activities and exercises regularly to maximize his performance of Olympic Weightlifting.
