Optum is looking for a Full-Time Palliative Medicine Physician to join our Palliative Care team in Northridge, CA. 

Position Details:

  • Clinician to join our newly redesigned Palliative Care Program
  • Plenty of growth and leadership opportunities
  • Monday - Friday : 8am - 5pm
  • Average Patients Per Day ~10-12 PPD | 60 mins for new patients and 30 min follow up appointments
  • Patient Mix : >65 with chronic medical conditions eg. CHF, COPD, Diabetes
  • No weekends or nights required
  • Shard call with all high risk providers, one weekend every fifteen weeks but do not need to be homebound
  • Majority of the time will be in an office setting but will do some home, SNF, Hospital visits
  • Dedicated support staff: Care Partner or Social Worker assigned to each patient depending on needs
  • Support in Clinic: NP, MA, LVN, and Pharmacist to clinic panel size of 300 patients


  • Unrestricted CA State Medical License
  • Current California DEA certificate
  • BC/BE in IM or FM

Preferences :

  • Critical Care, Palliative, or Geriatrics Boarded MD/DO
  • Previous experience in a managed care setting and working with chronically ill patients
  • Medical Spanish preferred but not required
