Indiana University School of Medicine, a national leader in research, education and clinical care, is seeking a visionary leader for Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science. The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science within the Indiana University School of Medicine, in close partnership with the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, conducts collaborative education and research programs to improve health for Indiana and the world.

The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science conduct research in aging, biomedical informatics, cancer, cardiology, dentistry, endocrinology, gastroenterology and hepatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, nursing, veteran’s affairs, pediatrics, and many other disciplines. Faculty research covers traditional areas of focus such as longitudinal modeling, survival analysis and missing data problems, along with newer areas such as adaptive clinical trials, bioinformatics and analysis of medical imaging data, with increasing expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. The department is also known for innovative methodology that improves the design and analysis of research studies.

This position is ideal for a transformational leader who can build on existing strengths in Biostatistics and Health Data Science to develop new programs. Minimum qualifications include an MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent, an extramurally funded research program, and academic credentials for a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Doctorate or Terminal degree is required. The individual selected for this position must be a highly accomplished researcher and principled leader with exceptional communication, interpersonal and change management skills, and a strong commitment to upholding our core values--including promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
