The Division of Pediatric Neurology & Developmental Neuroscience, Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, is pleased to announce vacancies for an epileptologist at Texas Children's Hospital Main Campus. The academic appointment at Assistant Professor (tenure track), will be in the Division of Pediatric Neurology & Developmental Neuroscience of the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine.

Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary: As a member of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, our Level 4 program includes a 12 bed EMU and 20 bed CEEG Neurocritical Care monitoring service. Our hospitals located in Houston Texas, provide Pediatric Emergency Centers staffed by physicians who are board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine; acute care inpatient units staffed by Pediatric Hospitalists; and intensive care units staffed by Pediatric Critical Care specialists. A large cohort of pediatric subspecialists provide inpatient and outpatient services at all locations (Main Campus, West Campus, and Woodlands).

Our Pediatric Epilepsy and Epilepsy Surgery Programs provide all aspects of epilepsy medical and surgical care, especially minimally invasive pediatric epilepsy procedures and neuromodulation, including VNS, DBS, and RNS. We have 20 epileptologists/clinical neurophysiologists and 2 epilepsy surgeons and offer a full complement of SPECT, PET, fMRI, source localization, TMS, MEG and Subdural and Stereo EEG invasive monitoring. Subspecialty programs include the ketogenic diet, epileptic spasms, Tuberous Sclerosis, Rett Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, sodium channel, CNS inflammation (including Rasmussen Syndrome), vascular, and new onset seizures. The candidate will assist with coverage of inpatient epilepsy and neurophysiology services, the interpretation of EEG studies, and fellow clinic in addition to their own clinical practice. Collaboration with neurosurgery and associated research is expected.

Position Qualifications: • Minimum Education: M.D. or equivalent. • Minimum Certification/Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board; obtainable upon hire offer • Board certified/eligible.
