Adult Congenital Heart Disease Cardiologist (Physician)

The Inova Children's Heart Center and Inova Schar Heart and Vascular are seeking a board certified/eligible Adult Congenital Heart Disease Cardiologist to join our growing team. Inova's Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program started in 1994 as one of the first programs to care for adults with congenital heart disease. Today, our team of highly specialized physicians continues to care for patients with congenital heart disease at every stage of life. We offer the only program in Northern Virginia with continuity of care for neonates through to adulthood.

This program is part of the Children's Heart Center at Inova Children's Hospital which has been caring for the hearts of our region's children for more than 35 years. Board-certified pediatric cardiologists, electrophysiologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and congenital cardiac surgeons have dedicated their practice to help children overcome complex congenital anomalies, including hypoplastic left heart and other single ventricle syndromes. Fetal cardiologists partner with obstetrics, maternal fetal medicine and other pediatric specialists for multi-disciplinary care coordination and consultation. Each year our pediatric cardiac surgeons perform approximately 200 surgeries with outcomes that outperform national benchmarks and standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); or successful completion of all required components of the USMLE.
• Training: Completion of an accredited residency program, fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology or Adult Cardiology, and additional fellowship training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
• Certification: Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology or Adult Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
• Licensure: Current or eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
• Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
