Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist – 24/7 GI Call Coverage (ERCP Required) Location: Near Hershey, Pennsylvania Start Date: ASAP, pending privileges

We are seeking a locum tenens Gastroenterologist to provide 24/7 GI call coverage across three hospitals within a 20 minute radius in the Harrisburg, PA area. This position involves inpatient consultations, GI procedures including ERCP, and follow-ups.

• 24/7 GI call coverage across 3 hospitals
• Start date: ASAP (upon credentialing and privileges)
• Coverage includes:
• Inpatient consultations
• GI procedures including ERCP
• Follow-ups
• Average consult volume:
• ~10-12 new consults/day on weekdays
• ~8-9 on weekends
• Active census can reach 40–50 patients with follow-ups
• Inpatient procedures: ~10 per day across all sites
• ER volume (GI-related): Estimated 2–3 phone consults/day (not tracked in EMR)
• Weekend GI procedures (2024): Fewer than 100 performed across all sites
• ERCP volume (2024): Over 400 performed across all hospitals
• Weekdays (M–F):
• 2 locum physicians needed for 24-hour call coverage
• Weekends:
• 1 locum physician needed for 24-hour call
• Occasional Day Shifts (8 hours):
• May include clinic coverage or outpatient procedures
• Estimated hours: 0730–1530 (can vary slightly)
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active or eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license
• Proficient in ERCP
• Ability to cover multiple hospitals as needed
• Available for 24-hour call and/or day shifts
