Position Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time Psychiatrist to join our integrated healthcare team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, prescribing, and monitoring psychiatric treatment while collaborating closely with primary care providers and other specialists to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care. The psychiatrist functions in accordance with TFHC policies and procedures and supports the mission of a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
This position offers flexible scheduling and is ideal for providers seeking a part-time clinical role within a collaborative, community-focused environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic assessment and evaluation of patients with emotional, mental, or behavioral disorders
- Develop and manage treatment plans in collaboration with primary care and behavioral health teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Make appropriate referrals for testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
- Order and review laboratory tests and other medical procedures as needed
- Provide effective psychiatric treatment with the goal of symptom remission
- Educate patients and families on psychiatric conditions and treatment options
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement initiatives
- Serve patients in a respectful and compassionate manner without imposing personal values
Teaching, supervision, or involvement with residents and students may be available based on interest and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with specialization in Psychiatry
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry
- Current BLS certification
- Valid State of Florida Medical License
- Valid DEA Registration Certificate
- Ability to maintain hospital privileges at referral hospitals, if required
- Commitment to maintaining continuing education requirements
