    We are currently hiring Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) to work various 12-hour shifts, as a full time, part time, or per diem employee at our Highland Hospital’s Anesthesiology department. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. This clinician will provide services including inpatient, emergency, and on-call care. Clinicians within Alameda Health System (AHS) will be expected to safely and effectively care for the following types of surgeries, procedures and circumstances within our Anesthesiology care team.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; graduation from a school of anesthesia complying with the standards of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the California State Board of Registered Nurses.

    Minimum Experience: Two years of full-time experience in the administration of anesthetics by inhalation and intravenous methods in an active acute hospital or clinic may be substituted for the educational requirement. Experience in obstetrical and emergency anesthesia and experience in the intubation and resuscitation of newborn infants is considered desirable.

    Required Licenses/Certifications:

    • Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
    • Certification as a Nurse Anesthetist by the California State Board of Registered Nurses
    • BLS - Basic Life Support Certification issued by the American Heart Association. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - issued by AHA - American Heart Association
