Assistant, Associate, Full Professor - Stroke Neurologist (CHS)

Job Duties:
The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a stroke neurologist interested in pursuing an academic career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
- This position is full time, 100%
- This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
- Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
- This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with JR#10002113 ; please note that two total vacancies exist. Having two job postings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates on both the CHS and CT tracks.
- This position will be a dual appointment with UW Madison and UW Medical Foundation.
- This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
- The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you choose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have completed a neurology residency program
- Stroke, Neurocritical Care, or Neurohospitalist fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
- Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
- Must have a WI medical license by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
Education:
MD or DO or equivalent is required by the start date.
