Gastroenterology Locums - Maine
Highlights
- No call or weekend responsibilities
- 1-2 week blocks per month Travel and lodging accommodations covered
- Bread and butter GI — ERCP not required
- Work alongside 2 full-time physicians and full OR support
Practice Setting
- Outpatient and procedural (OR-based endo suite)
- Onsite lab and x-ray services available
- Adults only
- EMR: Epic
- Full anesthesia coverage — CRNA + anesthesiologist in every case
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8-hour days with 30-minute lunch
- No overtime unless pre-approved
- Clinic volume: 14-16 patients/day (only 1 clinic day/week)
- Assignment requires 2 weeks/month minimum
Procedures and Cases
- Required: Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy
- Upper GI with biopsy, foreign body removal, banding of varices
- Preference for providers who perform therapeutic procedures
Requirements
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- COVID and flu vaccines required
- Active ME license preferred — open to IMLC physicians
- 3 years of experience preferred
Credentialing Requirements
- Credentialing timeline: ~60 days
- Institutional ADR submission required at name clear
