About the Role: AMOpportunities (AMO) is seeking board-certified General Surgeons and qualified healthcare professionals (NPs, PAs, MDs, DOs) to precept medical trainees in Northern California. This unique opportunity allows you to educate the next generation of surgeons while maintaining your clinical workflow in either inpatient, outpatient, or combined settings.
As a preceptor, you'll provide hands-on clinical education, share real-world surgical insights, and mentor passionate learners from across the globe. AMO manages all administrative logistics—student recruitment, documentation, and support—so you can focus on what matters: teaching.
What You’ll Do:
- Precept a 5-week, 180-hour rotation (schedule flexible to your availability).
- Offer exposure to both inpatient and outpatient surgical settings.
- Lead case discussions, procedural observations, and clinical evaluations.
- Ensure documentation and evaluations are completed per partner school guidelines.
- Help students bridge the gap between theory and real-world surgical practice.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified in General Surgery or a licensed NP/PA with surgical expertise.
- Licensed and practicing in Northern California.
- Passion for clinical teaching and mentoring students.
